An exciting opportunity for a high-performing Financial Services business development professional to join a rapidly growing private sector AI Business Solutions team, focused on delivering industry‑led, AI‑enabled transformation across Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance.
This is a new business, hunter role for sellers who lead with industry insight, client challenges, and long‑term senior client relationships. You will play a key role in spearheading Financial Services growth, helping establish a recognised industry leadership position as our AI Business Solutions capability scales.
While our solutions are powered by the Microsoft technology stack, success in this role is defined by industry credibility, commercial ownership, and the ability to build and sustain long‑term senior client relationships, supported by strong pre‑sales and delivery teams.
The RoleAs a Business Development Manager / Principal – Financial Services, you will operate as a senior individual contributor within our AI Business Solutions private sector team, reporting into the Head of Sales, AI Business Solutions.
You will generate demand through your existing Financial Services network, develop new executive‑level relationships, and lead opportunities from first conversation through to signed contract, with a clear focus on building enduring, senior‑level client partnerships.
This role offers significant scope to influence industry go‑to‑market strategy, shape propositions, and grow into a broader Financial Services industry leadership role as the team and market presence expand.
Responsibilities- Defining and executing the Financial Services business development strategy across Banking, Capital Markets, and Insurance.
- Acting as the primary seller and long‑term relationship owner for senior Financial Services clients.
- Building, maintaining, and expanding long‑term senior client relationships, including C‑suite and executive leadership.
- Leading consultative, challenge‑led sales conversations, focused on client outcomes rather than technology‑first selling.
- Positioning AI‑enabled Business Transformation, including customer service, sales, and operations use cases.
- Shaping opportunities that combine Contact Centre, CRM, case management, workflow, low‑code, automation, data, and AI to address challenges such as customer experience, cost‑to‑serve, regulatory change, and operational resilience.
- Leading conversations on Copilot and generative AI adoption within Financial Services, grounded in real business value, governance, and change.
- Owning and managing a high‑quality sales pipeline, qualifying and prioritising opportunities to deliver against revenue targets.
- Leading opportunity shaping, deal strategy, and commercial negotiations, including pricing and contract discussions.
- Working collaboratively with pre‑sales and delivery teams, leveraging their expertise while retaining ownership of the client relationship and commercials.
- Partnering closely with Microsoft and ecosystem partners to drive joint opportunities.
- Representing the organisation externally at industry events, executive briefings, and client forums.
- Acting as a trusted ambassador for the AI Business Solutions team.
- Proven experience in new business sales or business development within Financial Services (Banking, Capital Markets, and/or Insurance).
- Demonstrable experience positioning Business Applications and Contact Centre solutions within Financial Services environments.
