Monitor Technician – Parkland Medical Center

Derry, NH
Position Summary:
Responsible for continuous observation of cardiac monitoring surveillance, including identifying, interpreting, documenting, and reporting cardiac rhythms.
- Continuous observation of patients' cardiac rhythm transmitted remotely to the central monitoring station.
- Interpret normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms and events.
- Recognize and understand significance of alarms.
- Immediately communicate life‑threatening changes via hospital emergency system.
- Compare and interpret current rhythm with previous monitoring and communicate changes as appropriate.
- Accurate and timely documentation of rhythms, changes, and arrhythmias per policy.
- Assist nursing personnel with troubleshooting and correcting equipment problems.
- Inform and coordinate equipment repairs with Biomedical Department.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area.
- Promote internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Build and promote a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Work as scheduled and comply with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
- Required:
American Heart Association BLS; successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course; successful demonstration of rhythm strip competency and test. - Preferred:
Previous experience or education in arrhythmia interpretation.
