Management Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking a pro‑active management accountant to join a forward‑thinking team in a fast paced environment. This role is more than just management accounts – it’s working closely with stakeholders in the group to help drive and support decision making. The ideal candidate will have experience within management accounts, possess exceptional communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively to deadlines.

- Working as part of a team of 6 accountants, reporting into the Finance Director.
- Main core area is preparation of management accounts:
- The team have 57 sets of management accounts to prepare.
- Management accounts prepared on a 4‑weekly basis (13 periods for the year).
- Management accounts to include variance analysis and KPI’s.
- Management accounts need to be prepared accurately and on a timely basis.
- Will need to liaise with business owners and deal with queries on management accounts.
- Carry out weekly uploads from payroll system to accounts system.
- Prepare weekly reports for Finance Director.
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- Intercompany balance reconciliations.
- Process inter‑company recharges.
- Assisting in preparation of year‑end audit files for the group.
- Dealing and assisting the auditors.
- Working closely with other members of the accounts team (purchase ledger, payroll, credit control).
- Prior experience within a management accounts role.
- A minimum of AAT qualified would be preferable.
- Exceptional organisation and time‑management skills, with an ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of SAP Business 1 would be beneficial.
