Job Description
We are hiring – Therapeutic support practitioners for our learning disabilities home in Derby. “Empowering Futures, Nurturing Potential”. You will work alongside experienced practitioners and leaders to offer and deliver nurturing care and support for children and young people who have learning disabilities

The Role Of Therapeutic Support Practitioner Involves- Providing outstanding care to children while applying their individual care plans
- Taking the children on activities
- Liaising with families and professionals to ensure the best possible care is being provided and carried out
- Taking a proactive approach in supporting the children with attending and engaging in their education
- Making and maintaining accurate records of the child’s day, including any incidents that may occur
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties, including cooking, cleaning, and completing health and safety checks
- Applying safeguarding knowledge to ensure the safety and well‑being of everyone in the home
- Complying with GDPR and Health and Safety regulations
- All different shift patterns for Day and Night wake support workers
- Day support workers may be required to do sleep‑in duties
- A highly competitive salary up to £34,060 (inclusive of an average of 5 sleep‑ins per month), dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
- Salary package is £13.50 – £14.50 per hour with £65 per sleep‑in
- A non‑contractual annual rewards and recognition scheme, based on individual performance indicators and the performance of the home – earnings can be up to £1,000
- Welcome bonus of £1,000 – subject to terms and conditions
- Enrollment onto the fully funded QCF level 3 & 4 in children and young people’s residential home’s qualification
- A condensed rota pattern, consisting of 3 days on and 3 days off
- Robust and comprehensive paid induction, and continued training and development within each role
- Support and progression opportunities within the home and the provider as they grow within the sector

Qualifications & Experience What we are looking for from you- QCF Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Experience in a children’s home setting or working with young people who have learning disabilities and additional needs (essential)
- Supervisory experience (essential)
- Passion to help nurture young people (essential)
- Be able to work shift patterns including sleep‑ins (essential)
- Full, UK driving licence (essential)
