We are currently recruiting for a several talented Mechanical Design Engineers to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation near Derby.

Required:

Mechanical Design Engineer

* A good degree coupled with 2-3 years of mechanical design or mechanical development experience involving the solving of complex engineering problems using engineering fundamental principles.

* An appreciation of systems-level design including product specifications, product requirements, analysis, test / validation procedures, FMEA, 8D, and / or DVP processes.

* Experience of dynamic mechanical systems (e.g. electric motors, engines, gearboxes, pumps, etc)

* An interest or experience in automotive combustion engines

The positions are open to engineers with a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to apply them to a broad range of complex engineering problems.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing complex mechanical systems for use in high-volume applications (such as automotive engines – diesel, hybrid and new automotive hydrogen engine technology).

Note:

This is not a detailed level CAD design role.

You will need to have a strong understanding of engineering principles and be able to design components to meet specific requirements. You will also work closely with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure components are designed, tested and validated according to the overall systems requirements.

Skills / Knowledge

Required:

Mechanical Design Engineer

* A good degree in Mechanical Engineering, automotive engineering or a related discipline

* At least 2-3 years of industry experience gained within mechanical design or mechanical development involving the solving of complex engineering problems using engineering fundamental principles.

* An appreciation of systems-level design including product specifications, product requirements, analysis, test / validation procedures, FMEA, 8D, and / or DVP processes.

* Experience of dynamic mechanical systems (e.g., electric motors, engines, gearboxes, pumps, etc)

Others: (Beneficial) Mechanical Design Engineer

* An interest or experience in automotive combustion engine design / development

* Able to develop product specifications

* Ability to develop test and validation requirements

* Experience with FMEA, 8D, and / or DVP processes

* Experience of working as Mechanical Design Engineer in the automotive industry would be advantageous
