About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter / Technician to join a dynamic team maintaining and servicing modern rolling stock. This is a hands‑on, high‑level technical role with a strong electrical bias, requiring advanced diagnostic skills and leadership capability. You'll play a key part in ensuring the reliability and safety of cutting‑edge rail assets, working in a fast‑paced environment where precision and professionalism are paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret electrical schematics and traction/rolling stock drawings.
  • Perform complex fault‑finding, diagnostics, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with operational specifications using engineering processes.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Identify and rectify defects, propose corrective actions for repeat issues.
  • Respond to in‑service failures and provide technical assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP for all work completed.
What We're Looking For
  • Electrically biased technician with proven experience in rolling stock or similar heavy engineering environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards.
Essential Qualifications
  • HNC or served apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical engineering OR NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
Desirable
  • IT skills (Word, Excel), AC depot isolation competence, driving licence.
