Position: Reception TA (Temporary)
Progress Teachers are looking for dedicated and experienced EYFS ( Reception / Nursery) SEND Teaching Assistant to join friendly and supportive primary school(s) in Derby.

We focus on long-term and permanent employment, meaning that you return to the SAME school every day, therefore offering consistency not only to staff, but for the students also, with often this resulting in you transferring across onto schools contract.

I am working with mainstream Primary school in Derby who are looking for specialist staff to enhance their staff cohort and add value to the School.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, helping them flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

Provide targeted support to children with additional learning and developmental needs within the EYFS environment.

Follow and implement individual development plans and support strategies set by the SENCO and teaching team. Adapting learning materials to suit each students learning styles.

Assist with play-based learning, structured activities, and daily classroom routines.

Support children’s communication, social interaction, emotional development, and early learning skills.

Monitor, record, and share observations of children’s progress.

Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and parents to ensure consistent, high-quality support.

Qualifications & Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting children with SEN in EYFS/KS1/KS2, in UK classrooms

Is patient, empathetic, adaptable, and confident communicating with young children and adults.

Understands early years development and inclusive learning practices.

Can work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.

Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).

Has a DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.

Paediatric first aid desirable but not essential

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm - Immediate start after Easter
