Teacher Active are working closely with a primary school just outside the city centre in Derby, who are looking to take on a passionate learning support assistant to work 1:1 with a child with SEND. This mainstream primary school ensures they have a positive attitude towards learning and empowers the staff about making a difference in the lives of young people.

In this role you must have had experience working in a SEND environment in either KS1/key stage 1 or KS2/KS2. You must be able to inspire and motivate those that need additional support. A level 2 or 3 qualification is desirable however if you have vast experience you will be considered. The 1:1 is with a child in year 6. You must be able to deal with challenging behaviours well and know how to react to different situations.

The successful SEND learning support assistant will have:

Experience working with children with SEND
Experience working in KS1 or KS2
Able to communicate well between staff and students
Level 2 or higher qualification (desirable)
