We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism, ADHD and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs to thrive academically, socially and emotionally within a nurturing school environment.

Working Hours

* Monday & Tuesday: 8:30am – 12:30pm

* Wednesday – Friday: 8:30am – 2:30pm

The Role

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide personalised, consistent and structured support for a child on a one-to-one basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil feel safe, understood and able to engage with learning.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day

* Support emotional regulation and wellbeing using a calm, flexible approach

* Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs

* Use strategies appropriate for Autism, ADHD and PDA profiles

* Build a trusting and positive relationship with the pupil

* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and parents/carers

* Support the pupil’s social communication and independence skills

* Contribute to behaviour and support plans

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Have experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism and ADHD

* Have knowledge or experience of PDA-informed approaches

* Be patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient

* Be calm, flexible and able to think creatively

* Have strong communication and teamwork skills

* Be committed to inclusive education and safeguarding
