About the roleYou will look after young people with mild to moderate learning disabilities. Experience of working with autism, ADHD, non‑verbal individuals and knowledge of Makaton or PECs is desirable.
Training and qualifications will be provided, but the most important qualities we look for are commitment and a desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of young people.
Responsibilities- Help create a positive environment for each young person, focusing on safety, health and education.
- Carry the home’s ethos and values through to the young people and represent Blue Mountain Homes professionally.
- Maintain good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes.
- Engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Be accountable to the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.
Shift patterns are on a rolling rota. Shift hours are 08:00 – 23:00 per shift, with days varying week to week. Sleep‑in shifts are required. All applicants must hold a valid manual UK/EU driving licence. The role is Full‑time, Permanent.
Salary:
Up to £34,048 per year (£12.70 – £13.60 per hour, £60 per sleep). Salary depends on qualifications and undertaking 8 sleeps per month.
