A skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in stepdown care is sought for a contract opportunity in Derby, KS. This position supports a critical care unit focusing on cardiac and stepdown patients. The role involves delivering specialized patient care within a high-acuity environment and collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team to optimize outcomes.
Key Qualifications and Desired

Experience:

* Current RN licensure with stepdown or critical care expertise

* BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required

* Experience with cardiac care procedures such as heart catheterizations, balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia protocols, cardioversion, and central line management

* Ability to administer medication drips and adhere to patient ratio standards (1:2 typical)

* Strong organizational skills, efficiency, and a positive, engaged attitude essential for success

Schedule/

Hours:

* Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM

Responsibilities:

* Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a 26-bed cardiac stepdown unit

* Monitor and manage advanced cardiac support equipment and interventions

* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans

* Maintain accurate documentation using an EMR system (Meditech)

* Adhere to unit policies and uphold patient safety and quality standards
