Part-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Next Care Urgent Care is seeking a part-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to support our Wichita, KS market in a float role
.

This is a part-time float urgent care position caring for patients of all ages. Providers manage a broad scope of services, including acute illnesses and injuries, pediatrics, occupational medicine, X-rays, and lab services. Providers should be comfortable practicing independently while collaborating with a regional clinical team.

• Part-time position
• Minimum of 4 shifts per month required
• Shifts are typically 12 hours
• Schedules are coordinated in advance
• Additional shifts or hours may be offered based on clinic needs and provider availability
• Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays preferred

• This is a designated float role supporting three Next Care clinics in the Wichita, KS area
• Floating is limited to nearby Wichita-area clinics, all within a short driving distance of one another

• Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with clinical best practices in an urgent care and/or occupational health setting
• Provide compassionate, respectful, and patient-centered care aligned with Next Care’s mission and values
• Independently manage patient care from intake through discharge
• Diagnose conditions, develop treatment plans, and clearly communicate next steps to patients
• Accurately document care in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Ensure appropriate coding and billing for services rendered
• Maintain clinical productivity and professionalism consistent with industry standards

• Active and unrestricted Kansas medical license
• Active DEA registration
• NCCPA certification (Physician Assistant) or ANCC/AANP certification (Nurse Practitioner)
• Nurse Practitioners must be certified to treat all age groups (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner)
• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies or Master’s degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
• Active BLS certification
• Comfortable treating patients of all ages
• Strong EHR proficiency
• DOT certification may be required; if not currently certified, Next Care will provide training at no cost

• At least 1 year of urgent care, ER fast-track, or walk-in clinic experience
• Comfort with initial X-ray interpretation prior to radiologist over-read
• Strong procedural skills, including suturing and minor procedures
• Ability to practice independently in a fast-paced environment
