Youth Sports Associate - Sally's YMCA

Under the general supervision of the Coordinator/Director, in cooperation with other YMCA staff, and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Youth Sports Official is responsible for enforcement of official league rules during all scheduled games.

• Maintain atmosphere consistent with the YMCA Christian Mission during games.
• Diffuse conflict situations involving parents, coaches and players.
• Communicate any inappropriate behavior to Sports Specialist and/or Program Director.
• Enforce rules for particular sport.
• All YMCA staff are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive environment. This includes following all YMCA policies and procedures related to abuse prevention, reporting concerns or incidents immediately, and maintaining appropriate boundaries with youth and members.
• Be in support of the YMCA’s Christian mission and Youth Sports philosophy.
• Have sufficient knowledge of rules for the specific sport being officiated.
• Must be enthusiastic.
• Able to develop positive relationships with coaches, children and parents.
