DOTI's Transportation Division develops, reviews, evaluates, implements and supports the design of transportation system improvements

As a Utility Worker II you will:
* Work on a Heavy Construction Signals team or a Signs and Markings team
* Perform semi-skilled and light to heavy physical labor on a variety of construction, maintenance, and repair projects
* Operation of light weight motorized equipment and hand and power tools
* Assist with general labor, safety, and related work tasks on a crew with Equipment Operators
* Cross Train with Signal Techs and Equipment Operators
* Operate equipment such as box truck, auger truck, dump trucks, Mini Excavators and other heavy equipment after CDL is obtained
* Place and remove barricades, cones, and other traffic control and safety devices in and around work areas for construction and maintenance projects in accordance with traffic regulation requirements
* Participate in snow removal duties.##

Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
* General construction knowledge
* Driving experience
* Conduit, piping or plumbing experience
* Have a valid Driver’s License
* Willingness to work in inclement weather, road environments, dust, fumes, etc.
* Desire to follow a career path and promote to other positions within the department, such as Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, etc. (We provide on the job training!)## Required

* Experience Requirement:
One (1) year of experience performing unskilled labor work.
* Education/Experience Equivalency:  Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement
* License/

Certifications:

Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
* Requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements within six (6) months of employment and must be kept current as a condition of employment.
