Position Summary
Street Sweeper Operators safely operates a heavy-duty truck with a sweeping unit mounted to it. They are responsible for sweeping streets on construction sites, road projects as well as municipalities. Duties will also require washing the truck down, rinsing out the hopper, as well as refilling dust suppression tanks with water throughout the workday. Responsibilities will also include working closely and communicating with dispatch and project managers to ensure quality of services as well as the completion of each job to meet or exceed customer expectations.
FunctionalResponsibilities
- Safe Driving Habits
- Responsible to safely operate Broom Truck from / to Brannan’s jobsites and facilities. This includes utilizing defensive driving practices, adhering to company policies for Personal Protective Equipment, and maintaining an alert awareness of potential jobsite or plant hazards - Individual will be responsible for removing debris, including broken pavement, asphalt and concrete millings, mud and construction materials or highway debris build up due to seasonal weather changes and highway waste
- Must know and understand state and city traffic laws
- Broom Operator & Maintenance
- Properly maintains equipment by conducting the proper pre-trip and post-trip inspections and mechanical write-ups. Properly operates the truck and other types of equipment according to the manufacturer’s recommended guidelines - Customer Service
- Maintains a positive attitude in all interactions with customers. Anticipates and fulfills all customer needs possible, alerting management to potential customer concerns - Professional Appearance
- Maintains Broom Truck in a consistently clean condition. The cab is always clean and well-ordered, and the exterior appearance of the Broom Truck is maintained each day
Operates truck in a manner that ensures compliances with all state and federal safety regulations. Follow required Brannan and DOT reporting procedures. All paperwork should be kept current during the day including timecards with job information and DVIR books. Drivers are responsible for ensuring all license, tags, permits and proof of insurance, as well as keeping their personal driver’s license and medical cards current.
Reports for work on time and at the scheduled location.

Qualifications :
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License
- Clean MVR
- Current DOT Medical Card
- At least 1-year verifiable Broom Truck experience
- Familiarity with the Denver metro area
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Pushing up to 90 pounds for 5 feet
- Pulling up to 150 pounds for 5 feet
- Lifting to 45 pounds to waist
- Carrying up to 45 pounds for up to 30 feet
- Ability to step up 2 steps into and out of truck
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed with variable start times
