As a senior software development engineer on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development, and launch of core product features. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these product features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high-performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of computer science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems.

• Work with other senior leaders on and across teams to build the technical strategy and architecture for a broad area

• Collaborate with stakeholders and end users to decompose complex problems

• Design, develop, and test world-class device software and cloud services

• Mentor and grow engineers across the team, leading by example and insisting on high standards

• Develop tools and processes to enable best-in-class operations for our service

You will be part of an agile team using scrum methodology to deliver features used by hundreds of Amazon teams. This includes daily stand-ups, interacting with end users and product managers, influencing team direction, designing and writing code, reviewing others' work, and driving engineering excellence improvements.

We are a fun, quirky, high-performing team that delivers observability solutions for Amazon devices and applications (i.e., Amazon Echoes, Kindles, Fire TV, Ring, Fire Tablets, etc.). We specialize in both cross-platform device software and high-performing cloud services to offer comprehensive device-to-cloud observability solutions.

• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
