Fare Harbor, a  company, is looking for a full‑time Engineer with experience in PHP, JavaScript, Word Press, UX, design, accessibility, and modern web standards to join the Fare Harbor.me team in Denver.

The Fare Harbor.me team powers our managed website platform, which serves thousands of custom client websites. We’re currently transitioning our platform to a Gutenberg‑based theme architecture, and this role will play a key part in building the next generation of Fare Harbor Sites—bringing together robust backend systems, a modern editorial experience, and scalable front‑end design.

• Write clean CSS, HTML (Twig), JavaScript and PHP
• Create and build user‑facing features to be integrated on thousands of client websites
• Work with project managers to create and build custom features for Enterprise client websites on occasion
• Work with Photoshop, Sketch, and the like to mock up page elements, typography improvements, etc. for our design framework
• Review pull requests, and write technical documentation for our engineers
• Help and share knowledge with other engineers
• Help develop a robust design framework that enables easy superficial theming.

• 3+ years of experience working with large‑scale production codebases and mission‑critical systems.
• Strong PHP knowledge.
• Strong JavaScript knowledge.
• Strong Word Press knowledge, including experience building custom plugins or themes.
• Strong semantic HTML and CSS knowledge, including modern and legacy techniques for reusable components and layouts.
• Good understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• A keen eye for good web design and user experience.
• Solid understanding of web fundamentals and performance best practices.
• Experience with Twig templating is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
• Motivated, hard‑working, and able to lead by example.
