Overview

Hi 👋🏾 I’m Abhik, Ashby’s Co‑Founder and VP of Engineering. At Ashby you can design and build. I always felt I had a unique perspective because I could play with design ideas and iterate in code. My prototypes used actual logic and data, and my changes cascaded throughout the app for comprehensive critique—all thanks to our React component system.

As engineers, we’re obsessed with building tooling that makes us better at what we do. When we started Ashby we saw Talent Acquisition software holding recruiters back. We’re building intelligent, powerful software that gives TA teams the highest standard of tooling, insights into where they’re failing, and automation that simplifies their daily tasks.

• Design and build complex UI components within our in‑house design system.
• Redesign and iterate on mobile‑web and desktop flows based on customer feedback.
• Write resilient, composable code that can be shared across teams.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate strategy into user‑friendly prototypes.
• Contribute to improving the information hierarchy and scannability of candidate assessments.
• Mentor and consult on bespoke design work across engineering.

• Minimal process with ownership over decisions normally made by product and design.

• Introduction call with Hiring Manager (15–30 min).
• A technical screen where you pair in our codebase (1 hr).
• Three non‑coding interviews focusing on product thinking, technical design, and infrastructure (total 3 h 15 min, can be split across days).
• Optional additional 30‑min recruiter screen if bandwidth permits.

Onboarding is designed so you ship product changes from day one. Your manager provides 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day reviews. A peer mentor is paired with you for frequent check‑ins.
