Position SummaryThe Kid Success Program is a school-based mental health therapy program that serves students, parents, and school staff in 17 Denver Public Schools and one private school, as well as 3 Adams County Public Schools. This internship offers a rich learning opportunity for graduate students to explore, foster, and cultivate their clinical skills while providing in-person therapeutic services. The Kid Success Program serves a diverse student population, and we strive to meet individual needs with cultural sensitivity.
The Kid Success Program is open to any student regardless of cultural background, religion, socioeconomic status, insurance status, or immigration status.
Concentration year/final year internship/practicum stipend available. This position is for the academic year.
Responsibilities- Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to students and their families.
- Provide school‑staff groups/trainings as needed.
- Utilize an electronic medical record for billing (Medicaid compliance).
- Complete mental health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and measure outcome tools.
- Create treatment plans, objectives, and goals.
- Complete progress notes within the allocated time.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, social workers, counselors, psychologists, nurses, and school administrators.
- Facilitate referrals to community agencies and provide consultation for specific problems.
- Make referrals to therapists outside of school for evaluation or treatment when indicated.
Interns will receive weekly hour‑long individual supervision and small group supervision, along with weekly participation in Kid Success Program team meetings. Interns also have access to many continuing education courses throughout their internship to support them in learning additional interventions and skills.

Must be attending an education program. Must be in the second/final year of their graduate program to be considered for the stipend.
