What We Offer

This is a limited position funded by the Vibrant Denver Bond, with an expected end date of December 31, 2031. The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. New community engagement specialist hires are typically brought into the organization between $86,634.00 – $ per year. We also offer generous benefits for full‑time employees which include:

Location & Schedule

The City and County of Denver balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. This position may be worked on site or in community, up to five (5) days a week at the Wellington

E. Webb Building – 201 W Colfax Ave., Denver, CO 80202 and the City and County Building, 1437 Bansack St, Denver, CO 80202. It will require attendance at off‑site, after hours, and weekend community events. Downtown parking expenses are the employee’s responsibility. A flexible spending account option is available for parking, and a City-sponsored RTD Eco Pass allows free use of public transportation for City employees.

We Are & What You’ll Do

The City and County of Denver is launching a unified Vibrant Denver Bond Office dedicated to delivering the $950 million Vibrant Denver Bond Program, passed by voters in November 2025. Team members operate with a “program‑first” mindset, working collaboratively to deliver transformative investments on behalf of the City and County of Denver.

Responsibilities
  • Design outreach and engagement strategy implementation plans: create and lead on implementation of city agency engagement strategies for infrastructure projects in the Vibrant Bond program.
  • Design public engagement processes: develop and implement long‑term processes to engage residents, local businesses, and community organizations in design and implementation for bond projects.
  • Organize public meetings and events: design, organize, and facilitate regular community meetings, workshops, and events tailored to individual bond project processes to make accessible and impactful opportunities for community participation.
  • Create pathways for community participation and leadership: help design tailored public engagement plans for infrastructure bond projects aimed at providing opportunities for community engagement across a full spectrum of participation.
  • Build stakeholder relationships: establish and maintain strong relationships with residents, community leaders, and local organizations, acting as a liaison between neighborhoods and the Bond Office.
  • Lead community outreach efforts: develop and implement on‑the‑ground strategies to engage residents, local businesses, and community organizations in bond project design and implementation processes across the city.
  • Data and reporting: create and lead on implementing systems to collect engagement data to demonstrate the impact of engagement efforts on the Vibrant Denver Bond.
  • Internal stakeholder and agency partner collaboration: identify potential partnerships and collaborative opportunities to enhance community development and address city issues.
  • Neighborhood outreach: engage with Denver neighborhoods to understand first‑hand the needs of our diverse community and assist community members in accessing relevant resources.
  • Assist as needed with agency project deadlines and reports with a team‑based approach.
