Domestic Violence Advocate - Bilingual - Residential Services

Safe House Denver has been around for 47 years, and we are on a mission to improve the lives of domestic violence survivors. We provide a safe space where survivors are believed, supported, and trusted.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Respond to callers on Safe House Denver’s 24‑hour Crisis & Information Line, providing emotional support, crisis intervention, de‑escalation, information and education, safety planning, and referrals.
  • Provide initial intake of new residents: orient, assess needs, plan, safety plan, emotional support, and crisis intervention.
  • Deliver short‑term individual advocacy, counseling, safety planning, crisis intervention, case management, and support for adult residents and children.
  • Maintain accurate record keeping and charting.
  • Demonstrate initiative for service quality, improvement, program development, problem resolution, and outreach.
  • Support shift, on‑call, and team requirements, including weekend coverage and on‑call response within 15 minutes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Three years of experience in human services or related field; 2 years of crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, time management, organization.
  • Attentive, responsive, proactive, detail oriented, technical aptitude, MS Office proficiency.
  • Passion for Safe House Denver mission and knowledge of domestic violence, trauma‑informed services, empowerment models.

What We Offer:

  • $24–$27 hourly rate, negotiable; full‑time, non‑exempt; performance evaluation and merit increase after one year.
  • 40 hours/week with schedule flexibility and on‑call rotation.
