Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday Hybrid schedule 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
This position is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act. All employees may also make pre‑tax or post‑tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan – must be 18 years of age to participate.
Job SummaryThe Case Manager I, TANF exists to support Temporary Assistance for Needy Families participants as they address barriers and seek new ways to reach their highest level of personal and economic independence. This position collaborates with program participants on a plan to assist them in obtaining employment and becoming self‑sufficient. It assesses the participant’s education, work experience, and barriers in order to provide supportive counsel regarding occupational choices and opportunities.
It also arranges support services, including childcare, and monitors the delivery of services and the participant’s progress through programming.
- Case Management Tracking, Documenting, and Reporting: Intake – gather demographic information, identify immediate needs, build trust. If within the organization’s scope, assess needs; if not, refer.
- Assessment: Dive into individual challenges and goals; identify barriers, interests, and risks.
- Service Planning: Establish specific goals and actions; produce a measurable service plan.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Use output and outcome metrics to track progress; maintain records using CBMS, Excel, Outlook.
- Data: Maintain accurate records and demonstrate sound computer skills.
- Use the Platinum rule: treat participants the way they would like to be treated.
- Speak clearly, transparently, collaboratively.
- Maintain confidentiality of agency and client records.
- Apply motivational interviewing to support short‑ and long‑term goals.
- Treat others with respect, using respectful language, tone, and body language.
- Assess prevalent or impactful barriers.
- Maintain detailed information on key community resources – housing, transportation, childcare, employment opportunities.
- Serve as primary source of information on community programs.
- Meet all deadlines for data submission.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education- A high‑school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Significant experience working in a social work atmosphere, understanding poverty culture, and navigating community, government, and corporate programs with complex rules.
- Excellent written, digital, and verbal communication skills.
- Effective one‑on‑one communication; create materials accessible to a wide audience.
- Successful maintenance of relationships with key contacts for referrals and knowledge sharing.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Maintain positive relationships with key internal stakeholders; identify success criteria.
- Provide customer delight through active listening, expectation setting, timely follow‑up.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality.
- Current experience working one‑on‑one with persons faced with disadvantages such as TANF, Food Assistance, Medicaid, Medicare, Disabilities, Justice‑involved, Mental Health, homelessness, food insecurity.
- Business networking experience within Denver and surrounding areas; personable, professional presence; interact with diverse customers.
- Self‑starter, focused, disciplined, and flexible.
