Our client is a Colorado-based power services company specializing in transformer repair, electrical equipment servicing, and asset support for utilities, industrial facilities, and commercial customers. Their work keeps critical power infrastructure operating safely and reliably through hands‑on repair, oil processing, testing support, and field service expertise.
We’re looking for a hands‑on Service Technician to repair and service transformers and switch gear both in the shop and at customer sites.
This is a mechanically focused, field‑oriented role ideal for someone with shop or manufacturing experience who wants to build deeper expertise in transformer repair and power equipment servicing.
Key Responsibilities- Repair & re‑gasket a wide variety of transformers and switch gear
- Replace bushings and tap changers with minimal supervision
- Drain and refill transformers with insulating oil using pumps
- Perform internal inspections and repairs (including entering transformer tanks)
- Learn and perform basic electrical testing (turns ratio, insulation resistance)
- Prepare units for painting (sanding and surface prep when required)
- Operate forklifts and shop equipment safely
- Follow all safety and environmental standards in shop and field environments
- ~2 years of shop or manufacturing experience
- Basic understanding of electrical equipment and shop tools
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, and varying conditions
- Drive company truck and trailer (valid driver’s license required)
- Travel 35–60% to customer sites (per diem, hotel, and gas covered)
- Welding or painting skills (hybrid technician + welder/painter roles available with additional compensation)
- First Aid / CPR / AED
- OSHA 10
Must pass background check, drug screening, and Wonderlic assessment.
