We operate a 24/7 in-house call center and provide scheduled and unscheduled services to fleets anywhere, anytime.

We are currently hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
.

The Mobile Diesel Technician Level II will perform licensed DOT inspections, Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, and other duties as assigned. The role may involve more advanced diagnostics and repairs under supervision. A successful Diesel Technician II continues to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques, complies with all company policies, and aims for high performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling systems, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel and gas engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related systems.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck systems and components, using appropriate tools and instrumentation.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road-test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify proper operation.
  • Identify problems, evaluate information, and generate and evaluate alternatives with sound judgment.
  • Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company vehicle and perform periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate the company vehicle, conduct safety checks, and complete pre-/post-trip inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to assess needs, provide information, resolve issues, and meet expectations.
  • Manage concurrent tasks with prioritization and time management.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks as required.
  • Document work according to company standards and upload photos of work performed, parts used, and findings via the TRAIT application on an iOS device.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation promptly.
  • Work with a high degree of independence, managing daily schedule and maintaining productivity.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs.
  • Coordinate with management and support teams to obtain approvals on repair estimates and RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination (e.g., degree/certification beyond HS or 5 years’ related experience).
  • Safe driving record; valid driver’s license required.
  • Valid DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment or within 72 hours of hire.
  • Possess and provide a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
