As a Facilities Supervisor (Electrician) you will maintain the Denver Art Museum complex, providing direct support for building operations and ensuring smooth, effective functioning of all infrastructure elements. You will perform full-scope electrical maintenance, repair, and installation of various types of electrical systems, apparatus, and auxiliary equipment, and supervise a team of Facilities Technicians. You will support both day‑to‑day operations and larger projects under the direction of the Director of Facilities and supervision of the Manager of Facility Services.

Schedule

7:00am – 4:00pm, 5 days/week, but will consider 10 hour/4 day work schedule if appropriate; occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays will be required, and subject to “on call” coverage under certain circumstances.

Pay Range

$30.00 - $40.00/hour based on experience.

What You’ll Do

As a Facilities Supervisor (Electrician), your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing general and building maintenance and assisting the Facilities Services Manager in overseeing the work of facilities staff, City of Denver agencies, and third‑party contractors.
  • Interpreting and working from blueprints, manuals, and written and verbal instructions, and clearly communicating this information to others.
  • Conducting preventative maintenance and repair on all electrical systems and apparatus in accordance with museum standards and current city, state, and federal code requirements, maintaining PM records, and ensuring work orders are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Installing new or upgraded electrical apparatus or systems as required and completing circuits according to diagram specifications and all applicable code requirements.
  • Estimating materials, labor, and equipment costs and reviewing estimates prepared by outside contractors.
  • Responding to electrical service or trouble calls, troubleshooting issues, and providing effective problem resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, city, and county regulatory agencies with jurisdiction over building systems and activities.
  • Maintaining and coordinating tools and equipment required by the various museum trades.
  • Supporting the departmental HVAC technician with routine maintenance of the museum’s HVAC systems.
  • Utilizing departmental computer software for incident documentation, e‑mail communications, work orders, and preventive maintenance tickets (Maintain

  • Following all established safety program practices and ensuring that facility employees and contractors do the same.
  • Assessing employee strengths to use time efficiently and establishing departmental priorities.
  • Planning, scheduling, coordinating, and assigning work, goals, and priorities for subordinate employees to meet departmental deadlines.
  • Maintaining daily work logs and overseeing daily logs for facilities department subordinates.
  • Keeping electrical rooms clean, organized, and stocked with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Ensuring proper storage and compliance with all applicable requirements, including cataloging all material safety data sheets.
