DPL is hiring a Security Officer to work at the Central Library in downtown Denver to help create positive experiences for library customers by maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and staff. You'll receive on the job training to develop skills and abilities related to the position, including certification in First Aid, CPR and in the usage of an AED, Narcan usage, defensive tactics and verbal de-escalation training.
* Ability to obtain an unarmed security guard license issued by the City and County of Denver.
* A demonstrated commitment to developing and maintaining a welcoming environment for young people, including babies, toddlers, preschoolers, grade schoolers, and teens.
* Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
* One (1) year of experience working with security and safety issues, including reporting unauthorized activity or emergencies.
* One year of experience working with security or loss prevention preferred
