Job Description

Become a crucial part of our asset protection team as a Lead Asset Protection Officer. In this vital role, you will protect our company's essential assets by implementing effective safety, inventory recovery, and theft prevention strategies. You will leverage your expertise to minimize inventory loss and monitor surveillance systems to ensure a secure environment. Your role will also include identifying, observing, and apprehending individuals engaged in criminal activities affecting our organization.

Collaborate closely with district Asset Protection managers to execute our comprehensive Asset Protection strategies. Join us in a values-driven workplace that prioritizes respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct undercover surveillance to uncover loss prevention opportunities within stores.
  • Perform detailed internal and external investigations, reporting your findings and apprehending those involved in illegal activities.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling Asset Protection specialists in partnership with district management.
  • Coach and provide skill development support to your team and assist in performance evaluations.
  • Review entries in the Asset Protection case management system for quality and accuracy, advising team members on effective reporting and decision-making.
  • Work with organized retail crime investigators to enhance training for specialists in identifying suspicious activities.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local laws along with company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and address behaviors impacting shrinkage, safety, and profitability through compliance audits.
  • Conduct regular physical security checks and make recommendations to improve loss prevention and profitability.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prepare case reports for prosecution, and be ready to testify on behalf of the company.
  • Act as a liaison within the district and division, developing and sharing asset protection solutions.
  • Support district managers in implementing asset protection initiatives at the store level.
  • Ensure asset protection equipment is functional through regular testing during store visits.
  • Be willing to travel and work varied schedules, including weekends.
  • Meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of experience in retail asset protection.
  • Proven ability to train others while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong skills in diffusing confrontational situations.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience managing asset protection across multiple locations.
  • Wicklander Certification.
  • Operational understanding of CCTV systems.
