Job Summary

The On Call Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. The officer acts as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions, detects and reports suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts. This position serves as a training ground for future supervisors and leaders within TRIDENT, working at multiple locations and learning the dimensions of our customer security programs.

Duties/Tasks
  • Communication: Communicate via computer/phone and respond to messages within 30 minutes from the home base.
  • Flexibility: Work for multiple clients, covering special projects, call‑offs, vacations, and open shifts, often at the last minute.
  • Security & Safety: Act as a visible deterrent, detect and report suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts threatening property, clients, guests, or employees.
  • Customer Service: Assist client employees, customers, and visitors with questions, directions, and general inquiries.
  • Emergency Response: Handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently; respond to medical emergencies and provide basic first aid, CPR, and AED.
  • Reporting: Observe and escalated suspicious activities.
  • Administrative: Participate in daily briefings for shift updates.
  • Other: Perform additional duties as assigned by TRIDENT.
Required

Education and Experience
  • Be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Driving Positions: Must possess a valid Driver’s License with at least one year of driving experience.
  • Clean driving record: No major violations within the last 36 months, no more than one accident in the last 24 months, and no more than one minor moving violation in the last 24 months.
Required License/Certifications
  • Must possess/maintain a valid state‑issued Guard Card/Security License.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen per federal, state, and local laws.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Communication: Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all personnel and the public.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate computer skills to operate client‑specific wireless technology.
  • Self‑Control: Remain composed, manage emotions, control anger, and avoid aggressive behavior in difficult situations.
  • Dependability: Reliable, responsible, and dependable in fulfilling obligations.
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
Working Environments/Physical Requirements
  • Schedule: No fixed schedule; posted a week prior for needed shifts. May be on call or fill posts for training.
  • Mobility: Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Environment: Work indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions.
  • Travel: Drive company/client vehicle between sites; work at multiple clients and locations.
Reporting Structure & Classification

The On Call Security Officer is a full‑time hourly non‑exempt position reporting directly to the Field Supervisor / Scheduler.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $20.50/hr – $21.50/hr (guaranteed opportunity to earn 40 hours a week).
