Position: Account Manager (Advanced Industries)

Our Advanced Industries Practice is seeking an Account Manager to join our team out of our Denver, CO, office! This is a great opportunity to work side by side with exceptional professionals focusing on the technology, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, and digital asset industries. Job Responsibilities
  • Serves as the day-to-day contact for all client requests within assigned book of business (comprised of a mix of Mid-Market & Large/Complex accounts) with approximate revenue of $1.5 Million to $2 Million, depending on types/sizes of accounts.
  • With guidance from the Account Executive, prepares (or delegates where applicable) all relevant renewal materials (Exposure Updates, Applications, Premium & Loss Summary, Coverage Comparison, Premium & Rate Comparison, etc.).
  • Using the client workbook, and with guidance of the Account Executive, creates the marketing submission, and manages ongoing negotiations with carriers.
  • Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy and desired coverages, terms, pricing based on submission, generates and populates the proposal and sends to Account Executive for completion/review.
  • Owns meeting facilitation, client interactions, negotiations, technical analysis, and program design with oversight from Account Executive.
  • Supports in winning new business & supports Account Executive with new client onboarding.
  • Demonstrates ability to anticipate client problems and provide solutions proactively.
  • Develops and maintains carrier relationships.
  • Receives policies, sends instructions to the applicable COE, and keeps COE abreast of any changes that occur during negotiations with ability to process the policy if needed.
  • Performs (or delegates where applicable) premium allocations, surplus lines template preparation, certificate of insurance template preparation & master approval, requests for on-demand certificates, basic contract reviews, policy endorsements processes; resolves coverage and premium discrepancy issues; and reviews audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies.
  • As needed, serves as a team lead, mentor, and/or manager for other Account Managers within the department. This includes ensuring quality control standards of the team are continually maintained and works with the Commercial Lines Leader regarding department strategies, needs, and performance.
  • Pursues mastery of the craft through on-going education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 5+ yrs. applicable insurance experience with specialty experience preferred.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and lead project special assignments.
  • Ability to build underwriter and client relationships.
  • Ability to delegate to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Maintains increased technical knowledge, both insurance industry and book of business industries.
  • Ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards.
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Some travel required (up to 30% depending on book of business & industry).
  • Holds state property & casualty insurance license.
  • Holds or is pursuing formal specialty designation ARM, CPCU, Industry specific designations
