SUMMARY

The Director of Retail oversees all facets of the company’s travel convenience and specialty retail locations at multiple airports. Responsibilities of the Director of Retail will include, but not be limited to, planning and designing stores, developing and implementing product and merchandising strategies, fostering strong vendor relationships, and ensuring the highest standards of customer satisfaction and service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead the new store design process, implementing best practices from across the airport concessions industry.
  • Develop and implement product strategies to align with overall business objectives, drive revenue, increase profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement innovative merchandising strategies to enhance visual presentation and promote customer engagement.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends (including regular analysis of the competition) to identify growth opportunities and optimize product offerings.
  • Manage inventory and supply chain operations to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Lead and mentor store management to ensure operational excellence and adherence to all brand and company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills and ability to understand P&L and other financial reporting tools

  • Ability to remain flexible and work efficiently, effectively, collaboratively, and respectfully in a stressful, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to make intelligent, commonsensical, professional, and quick decisions under pressure
  • Proven cost control, negotiation, and risk management skills
  • Passion for the guest experience and ability to foster collaboration and positive engagement within teams
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexibility to accommodate travel up to 50% of the time
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • 10-year TSA crr’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior, multi-store retail management role with proven track record of driving sales and operational success (required)
  • Prior Airport Travel Convenience Retail experience is required.
  • Proficient in retail management software and point-of-sale systems (required)
  • Experience with inventory management systems and supply chain logistics (required)
  • Proficient in all MS Office programs (required)
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Position is based at Denver International Airport (DEN). DEN is a climate-controlled environment and the temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. Use of public spaces as provided by the airport will be required when working at DEN.

Position may require evening, weekend, or holiday work. Flexibililty to accommodate regular, heavy travel schedule. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
