Position: Quality Inspector (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring product meets or exceeds all applicable quality standards. Conduct inspection of incoming products, in-process assemblies/subassemblies, manufacturing workmanship, and finished good materials.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection of incoming components, in process, and final inspection of finished goods for workmanship and conformance to inspection plans and drawings.
  • Develop standard work instructions, process procedures and inspection plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on nonconformances.
  • Understand and interpret GD&T to evaluate product quality compliance and provide reports as required.
  • Perform inspection utilizing various inspection instruments such as caliper, micrometer, automated visual system, etc.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure that information and data transfers effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure the compliance of the total Quality and Environmental Management Systems by participating in continuous improvements, process audits and problem solving.
Skills/Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma. technical associate’s degree preferred
  • IPC certifications
  • ASQ Quality Inspector certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience preferred in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Experience with inspection instructions such as micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, and multi-meter.
  • In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and interpretation of Quality standards.
  • Knowledge of quality and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and read blueprints.
