Job Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring product meets or exceeds all applicable quality standards. Conduct inspection of incoming products, in-process assemblies/subassemblies, manufacturing workmanship, and finished good materials.
Duties/Responsibilities- Perform inspection of incoming components, in process, and final inspection of finished goods for workmanship and conformance to inspection plans and drawings.
- Develop standard work instructions, process procedures and inspection plans.
- Conduct root cause analysis on nonconformances.
- Understand and interpret GD&T to evaluate product quality compliance and provide reports as required.
- Perform inspection utilizing various inspection instruments such as caliper, micrometer, automated visual system, etc.
- Collaborate with all departments to ensure that information and data transfers effectively to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
- Ensure the compliance of the total Quality and Environmental Management Systems by participating in continuous improvements, process audits and problem solving.
- Candidates must be self-motivated individuals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- High School diploma. technical associate’s degree preferred
- IPC certifications
- ASQ Quality Inspector certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience preferred in a manufacturing or similar industry.
- Experience with inspection instructions such as micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, and multi-meter.
- In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and interpretation of Quality standards.
- Knowledge of quality and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and read blueprints.
