Essential

Job Duties
  • Conduct assurance control testing on products and raw materials on the plant floor.
  • Utilize and/or adapt inspection equipment to meet quality control standards, making suggestions about procedures, standards and equipment.
  • Investigate and determine causes of faulty work, consult and advise production supervisors on corrective measures.
  • Ensure that sell‑by and production dates are correct on product runs.
  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine appropriate action within the limits of standard practices.
  • Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Confere with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Direct and supervise a group of employees involved in inspection and quality assurance procedures on purchased material, in‑process material and finished products to assure that quality assurance standards are achieved.
  • Plan and assign work to the team.
  • Responsible for scheduling QA technicians to assure proper coverage.
  • Responsible for Kronos in the QA Department.
  • Maintain discipline, morale, and harmonious relations among team members.
  • Investigate and adjust personnel problems within area of responsibility; recommend hiring, promotions, wage adjustments, and terminations.
  • Maintain time and production records.
  • Compile and maintain inspection records and quality control reports.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Interface with other departments to develop and implement training programs as required.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing (food preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Must be well‑organized with good attention to detail.
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and cooperate with others.
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
Physical Requirements

Manufacturing work on the plant floor, standing or sitting for long hours, bending, stooping, and lifting.

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information, sometimes with loud background noise.

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.

Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Must be able to work for long hours in a food processing environment, which is wet, damp, cold; temperatures frequently below freezing; employees expected to remain in these conditions for most of their work days.
