What You Can Expect from Birth Center of Denver
Birth Center of Denver is a midwife-led birth center providing evidence-based, compassionate and supportive care to women and families in the Denver and surrounding areas. We offer prenatal care, customized education classes, labor support, water birth, postpartum and newborn care up to 14 days. Centering Pregnancy™ is our standard model of prenatal care. This group-based approach to prenatal care combines belly checks with time for discussion and shared learning about pregnancy, birth and babies and is focused on building a community with other pregnant parents!
We offer a home-like space outside of a hospital that focuses on a highly supportive and unmedicated childbirth experience. We offer a luxurious environment with little intervention to support a more natural approach to birth. We have beautifully decorated and spacious suites with spa-like amenities including an oversized tub for water births, a queen-sized bed, and a separate area for loved ones to gather within the same suite.
Birth Center of Denver is owned by Saint Joseph Hospital and operates independently as a 5-bed licensed freestanding birth center. Should any "what ifs" arise, we have the full benefit of having Saint Joe's in our backyard, allowing for seamless transitions to the hospital if needed.
The Birth Center PRN RN role provides opportunities for you to work to the top of your scope and work with an incredible clinical team.
You will be scheduled for both day, night and weekend shifts. You will have the opportunity to take call from home if there is not anyone in labor, as long as you can be at the birth center within a 30-minute response time. Your hours will be set up alongside our midwife schedules, as there is a CNM/RN call schedule model.
You will support women who have low risk pregnancies by providing information, guidance and hands-on clinical care during prenatal care, labor, birth, postpartum and newborn care. The birth center nurse also supports family education, breastfeeding support and are key resources of information and support throughout the prenatal and childbirth journeys.
