LVN - Per Diem

Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) - Per Diem at Covenant Living Communities and Services. Positions available in assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care.

• Day: 6:00 am - 6:30 pm
• Night: 6:00 pm - 6:30 am

An additional $2.00 per hour for shifts between 3:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

• Assist routine daily direction and monitor the work of the nursing assistants on the unit, assuring a high standard of nursing care and satisfactory completion of tasks.
• Assist in the orientation of new LPN/LVNs and nursing assistants and reinforce training standards to maintain a high quality of care.
• Provide explanation of nursing procedures and assistance to staff to assure ongoing understanding and training.
• Communicate on a regular basis with the Nurse Manager or Director of Nursing regarding observations and concerns, resident and employee activities, needs, conditions, etc.
• Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental and emotional conditions and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff. When indicated, notify the physician and family members according to procedures.
• Provide direct patient care as appropriate including, but not limited to, catheter placement and care, colostomy care, suction, dressings, nasogastric tubes and other treatments.
• Participate in shift reports to ensure proper information about residents is communicated.
• Assist in the admission, orientation, and observation of new residents; ensure that physician orders for diets, therapy, medications, etc. are transcribed and communicated per procedure.

• Graduate of an approved school of licensed practical/vocational nursing.
• Current license, in good standing, as an LPN/LVN in the State.
• One year nursing experience.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.

Pay range: $31.88 - $39.84 per hour
