Job Summary and Qualifications

​​The Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures. This role requires specialized clinical expertise and a deep understanding of the unique needs of pediatric cardiac patients. The RN collaborates closely with pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the broader perioperative team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout the surgical continuum.

​Utilizing established nursing frameworks such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage,” the RN provides individualized care that supports optimal surgical outcomes. The RN advocates for the safety and well-being of patients and their families, ensuring that care is developmentally appropriate and emotionally supportive. This role also upholds the organization’s mission, vision, and values by fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement in the pediatric CVOR environment.
