About

this role

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Bariatric Surgery, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience.

  • This position includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 in relocation assistance
  • You will practice at the Denver Midtown Weight Loss Clinic ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).) and have privileges at Saint Joseph Hospital (), a 365-bed facility and one of the top-ranked hospitals in Denver, CO
  • Your hours will be Monday through Friday, no call, no weekends
  • You will see approximately 13-14 patients per day for H&Ps, follow ups, and assisting with new consults, follow-up management and elevate to surgeon as appropriate
  • Triage incoming referrals to include pre-charting and discern with provider the patient should see and timing of appointment
  • You will have first assist opportunities in the OR 2 times per week

What you’ll bring
  • APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
  • Board certification or eligibility in the designated discipline
  • Active, unobstructed Colorado medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Unrestricted PA license in the state of Colorado or able to obtain
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a PA in a bariatric and/or surgical setting. Please no new grads.
  • Minimum of 1 year of first assist experience
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • We are not able to accept candidates requiring Visa sponsorship at this time

Physical Requirements
  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
