This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center by optimizing the quality of life of all those served. The Adult Infusion Center RN oversees and directs the care of patients with hematologic/oncologic diagnoses in the outpatient setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assesses, plans, implements, and documents nursing care for patients needing intravenous treatments or cellular therapeutic procedures.
- Determines and performs venipuncture cannulation to administer intravenous therapy.
- Provides information to patients and families regarding intravenous therapy.
- Collaborates with all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate RN license.
- BLS – Healthcare provider.
- ONS chemotherapy provider card required within the first 6 months of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- BSN preferred.
- One year experience in acute care or an infusion center preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
- Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Chemotherapy Certification preferred.
