Job SummaryThe Senior Director of Individual Philanthropy (”Director”) leads the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals and family foundations that currently support—or have the capacity to support—Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver.
This role oversees comprehensive moves management strategies to achieve an annual revenue portfolio of $2 million or more, including responsibility for related reporting, financial tracking, and performance monitoring.
Reporting to the Vice President of Resource Development, the Director manages up to two full-time development staff and serves as a key member of a collaborative, team-oriented Resource Development Department. The Director works closely with colleagues across fundraising events, marketing and communications, grants and contracts, and other portfolio managers to ensure integrated and strategic fundraising efforts.
This position is highly relationship-driven and operates within established fundraising benchmarks and key performance indicators, contributing to both individual portfolio success and department-wide performance goals.
Role & Responsibilities- Manage all aspects of an individual philanthropy revenue portfolio generating $2 million or more in annual operating revenue, including short- and long-term strategy development, execution, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Build, cultivate, and steward strong, long-term relationships with key donors and prospects, advancing donors through a strategic moves-management framework that supports increasing levels of engagement and giving over time.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward significant and transformational gifts, aligning donor interests with organizational priorities beyond annual fundraising needs, including capacity-building initiatives and strategic investments.
- Develop and implement comprehensive multi-year fundraising strategies to retain, renew, and grow philanthropic support, including individual gifts, foundation grants, planned gifts, sponsor ships, major gifts, and multi-year commitments.
- Accountable for achieving annual and multi-year benchmarks and revenue goals through clear solicitation strategies, informed forecasting, and monthly and quarterly portfolio analysis and reporting.
- Lead a holistic stewardship approach that meaningfully engages, recognizes, and celebrates donors, sponsors, and board members in alignment with organizational values and philanthropic best practices.
- Supervise and develop up to two full-time development staff, providing coaching, strategic guidance, and performance support to ensure successful execution of fundraising responsibilities.
- Maintain current knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s funding priorities, programs, and strategic initiatives to effectively align donor interests with organizational needs.
- Conduct and direct donor prospect research across the individual team to support funding for operations, programs, and special initiatives.
- Support the Resource Development team in engaging Board and Associate Board members to strengthen and sustain key funding partnerships, sponsor ships, and volunteer involvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Grants and Contracts team, relationship managers, and Programs team to research, develop, and contribute to compelling funding proposals for existing and new opportunities.
