Food Coordinator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and community-focused Food Coordinator to join the Downtown Denver Islamic Center (DDIC). This part-time role involves approximately 8 hours a week, with a requirement to be on-site one Saturday each month during our food distribution event.

• Food Procurement & Inventory:
  Order and coordinate food pickups from Restaurant Depot, Food Bank of the Rockies and other local partners like Target and Metro Caring, ensuring culturally appropriate foods are secured for the community (halal meats, basmati rice, fresh produce, etc.).
• Volunteer & Event Coordination:
  Ensure all sign-ups from our website and partner agencies are accurately recorded. Be on-site during the monthly Saturday event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to oversee the distribution process and coordinate lunch catering for volunteers.
• Record Keeping:
  Collect and manage all receipts and documentation related to food purchases to ensure accurate reporting.
• Driver Coordination:
  Manage the food pickup drivers, overseeing and coordinating driver schedules so that food deliveries and pickups align smoothly with our overall distribution schedule.

• Experience in food program coordination, event planning, or a related role.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using online portals and basic office tools.
• Ability to work on-site for monthly Saturday events and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Approximately 8 hours per week with flexibility to complete most tasks remotely, plus one on-site Saturday each month during food distribution.
