Summary

The Operations Lead primary purpose is to ensure the plant is operated in compliance with all Safety and Environmental guidelines and permits. This position is also responsible for the operations part of the plant that include oxidation and packaging of BURA to meet or exceed established measures and accountabilities.

The Operations Lead will also lead the production operators in delegating shift work and coordinating material produced.

In addition, this position will be responsible for meeting production schedules, coordinating raw materials with the Plant Leader, coordinating with the Administrative Coordinator and will provide back‑up support when necessary.

The candidate will have a close partnership with the Plant Leader to implement site improvements around OSHA VPP Star, employee engagement, continuous improvement and various TPM activities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate both progressive interpersonal skills and the ability to understand the technical and business aspects of the operations.

This position will help promote TPM as the standard approach for our operations. The Operations Leader responsibilities include engaging operators to advance activity teams and drive progress within our pillars. Duties also involve administrative tasks, collecting and analyzing data, reporting, and supporting communication for 5S, pillar projects, and AM Activity Teams. This individual will play a vital role in developing AM Teams and implementing Site Masterplans.

  • Ensures consistent application of legal requirements, Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrates problem‑solving abilities to ensure that issues, inconsistencies and inefficiencies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates a passion for driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A high‑energy self‑starter with the ability to deal with people effectively.
  • Troubleshooting basics, how to analyze a problem and steps to the root cause. Helps reduce cycle time to problem resolution and eliminates the "replace and see what happens" method.
  • Provides training, encouragement, accountability and guidance to improve operator effectiveness throughout the operation.
  • Develops and actively manages plans for training, overtime, short crew size, etc.
