OverviewThe Spa Director role is an important responsibility as this person oversees the many working parts of the location. To be successful in this position requires an individual who has a range of skills including strong business acumen, driving revenue and overall profitability in a spa environment, handling personnel matters such as hiring, training, conducting performance reviews, and delivering feedback. They should possess leadership skills and be able to create a positive work culture that produces well-rounded, loyal, and productive team members.
The Spa Director must be able to approach all tasks with organization and intent, taking “ownership” of the spa operations including understanding and driving the financial aspects of the business. It is important that they present a professional image, representing Woodhouse as a luxury spa with a high standard for 5-star guest service in every interaction. Experience in guest relations and massage/salon/spa or hospitality management is necessary.
Role expectations include meeting/exceeding key performance indicators (KPIs), facility management, maintaining supplies and overseeing inventory processes and controls, ensuring guest satisfaction, recruiting and training, and employee coaching and development. The Spa Director is responsible for upholding all Woodhouse Spa standards that are set forth in the Operations Manual and shall strive each day to exceed guest expectations.
Responsibilities- Managing and monitoring all areas of spa operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures outlined in the Woodhouse Spa Operations Manual.
- P&L management and accountability for revenue targets and budgetary KPIs for the location. Forecasting revenues to maintain labor costs and monitoring expenses against budget to identify areas of opportunity within the business to meet the budget.
- Daily analysis of reporting to determine performance in service sales, retail sales, average ticket, success of promotional offers, schedule utilization and maximization. Identifying areas of opportunity for increasing profitability on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Ensuring the spa meets/exceeds goals set for the location, departments, and individual contributors. Implementing strategy and coaching initiatives to increase performance, monitoring and communicating progress to the team with consistency.
- Demonstrating and reinforcing excellent customer service to promote guest satisfaction and retention. Responsible for phone call follow-up(s) with guests that leave negative reviews on Google, Yelp, SMG
360 within 24hrs; driven by Director of Operations. - Partnering with department leads on inventory and product order request submission on a monthly basis. From order requests, placing orders for backbar and retail products within budget approved by Director of Operations.
- Creating and maintaining healthy relationships with product vendors to promote an environment of collaboration and mutual respect.
- Holding meetings once per week with management team and department leads for collaboration.
- Creating master schedule in partnership with management team, department leads, and Director of Operations.
- Acting as rotating MOD; alternating responsibility with management team to manage employee call-outs and address day-of scheduling needs.
- Coordinating and managing training opportunities for in-spa operations, vendor product knowledge and treatment protocols, in partnership with department leads and Director of Operations.
- Recruiting qualified candidates via Career Plug and other employment platforms and agencies, etc. in partnership with Human Resources.
- Compiling and delivering annual reviews for all reports in partnership with managers and department leads.
- Partnering with Corporate Field Marketing Manager on in-spa needs, coordination, and execution of in-spa campaign initiatives.
- Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with the specified dress code.
- Performing other projects, work, and activities as assigned to ensure the spa is running at optimal performance.
- Partnering with management team to address maintenance requests and solicit project quotes.

The salary for this position is $60,000-$65,000 annually, commensurate on experience. This role is bonus eligible. The bonus structure will be further clarified and discussed during the interview process. All bonuses are subject to board approval.
