Role PurposePerform as a functional trainer and administer field station training programs for Ground Handling operations through classroom, hands‑on, and verbal instruction. Assist and provide support to management on matters of safety, security, and education through training initiatives. Promote a “safety first” culture by introducing safe working procedures in accordance with Menzies Aviation’s policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively deliver new hire and annual recurrent training for all station personnel.
- Effectively deliver ramp OJT and Driver Training – Secondary OJT and other training based on training qualifications.
- Project a professional image/conduct at all times.
- Ensure the delivery of training courses supports and ensures safe and secure operations in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, security, and all government statutory requirements.
- Support employees and supervisors in undertaking protective and preventative measures necessary to achieve compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Support corporate compliance by ensuring training promotes and supports applicable Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
- Report any breaches of statutory requirements or company best practice to management.
- Participate in safety audits daily and provide corrective action assistance to management.
- Complete daily shift reports and other reports as requested.
- Attend and participate in monthly departmental meetings.
- Required to attend mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
- Manage all station training compliance, including but not limited to company regulatory, state, and airline required training compliance.
- Manage station OJT Program for each business line.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others.
- Be fully versed on International Aviation Safety and Security standards and promote them within the organization.
- Co‑operate with their manager/supervisor to comply with legal requirements imposed on the company.
- Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company resources for health and safety purposes.
- Inform their manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment, or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager/supervisor.
- Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific workplace health and safety rules or procedures.
- Fully understand the company health and safety policy.
- Attend training courses arranged by the Company.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screen.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Positive, can‑do, upbeat personality.
- Enjoy dealing with people daily.
- Able to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent time management skills and require minimal supervision.
- Able to stand for long periods at ticket counter and gate check‑in areas.
- Always uphold the image and standards of the company.
- Comfortable lifting 70 lbs.
- Pass FBI background check and obtain US Customs seal.
- Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Able to work extended hours on short notice during non‑routine operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or three years of experience in Ramp/Passenger Service operations.
