Senior Manager, Crisis Management (Hybrid)

Transamerica is seeking a Senior Manager, Crisis Management (Hybrid) to lead organizational crisis management efforts in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, or Denver offices.

Job Description Summary

Lead crisis management planning, execution, and recovery. Coordinate cross‑functional teams and provide real‑time leadership during emergencies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive crisis management plans, conduct risk assessments, and integrate plans with business continuity.
  • Design and deliver training programs, simulations, and drills to ensure staff readiness.
  • Create and execute stakeholder communication during crises, coordinating with internal communications and PR.
  • Lead a cross‑functional crisis management team, supporting executive leadership.
  • Conduct post‑crisis reviews, prepare reports, and identify improvement areas.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, emergency management, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Eight years of progressive crisis or emergency management, business continuity, or disaster recovery experience.
  • Experience managing technology integrations across security, emergency management, and communication systems.
  • Strong understanding of crisis and incident management principles in a large organization.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead teams during critical events.
  • Technical expertise in business resilience and risk management.
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong research, analytic, and innovative problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a dynamic, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in emergency management, business continuity, risk management, or communications.
  • Familiarity with latest crisis management technologies and software.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM).
  • Business Continuity Professional (CBCP).
  • Crisis communication credentials.
Working Conditions
  • Office environment.
  • Occasional travel for internal meetings.
Salary

Generally ranges between $130,000 – $150,000 annually. This position is typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the company bonus plan.
