All Full time Employees are currently working under a pilot 32 hour work week model while pay reflects a traditional 40 hour work week.

Under general supervision from the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Tech. performs routine maintenance work on or around the Recreation Center facility, Carbon Valley Community Center, District owned grounds, ball fields and outdoor areas. The maintenance team strives to meet the needs of the various programs and maintain District properties by providing clean and safe areas for District customers.

- Prepare sports fields daily and paint multipurpose fields for sporting events.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of athletic events (practices, games, tournaments).
- Utilize ballfield prepping schedule and print daily schedules as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on district buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Conduct basic tasks such as changing filters, replacing light bulbs, unclogging toilets, repairing floors/walls, painting, and exterior maintenance.
- Use hand and power tools (hammers, saws, drills) and operate machinery (mowers, trucks, backhoe, bobcat, snowplows, loaders).
- Mow, trim, pull weeds, and perform general outdoor landscape maintenance.
- Shovel/plow snow, apply ice melt, and continue snow/ice removal operations.
- Complete work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and address safety concerns.
- Fill out reports, checklists, logs, and supply requests accurately and timely.
Collaboration:
- Communicate with supervisors, staff, participants, parents, volunteers, and the community.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and in-service programs.
- Train and direct less experienced workers and seasonal employees as needed.
- Handle complaints and disciplinary problems professionally, adhering to District policies.
- Perform cost control measures and monitor expenditures to stay within budget.
- Process credit card transactions according to District financial policy
- Accept “on call” assignments when required.
- Report any changes, conflicts, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
- Maintain effective working relationships with employees, seasonal workers, and the public.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates over 18 must pass a background check prior to employment.
High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred.
One year of landscaping, laboring, turf maintenance, horticultural, arboricultural, equipment operations or other construction or farming experience.
Must also have the following certifications:
Valid Colorado Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
Certified in CPR/AED or the ability to become certified within 90 days of hire.
Physical Demands, Job Location, and Equipment Utilized:
Frequent outdoor and indoor activity.
Exposure to the elements including: high temperatures, low temperatures, rain, snow, and sun.
Long periods of physical activity including: standing, walking, crouching, stooping, crawling, pulling, pushing, lifting, and occasionally jogging.
Frequent travel by automobile to reach an activity site to be worked on that day.
Frequent operation of small engine vehicles such as gator trucks.
Lifting of heavy equipment up to 60 lbs. occasionally by one person and up to 100 lbs. with two people.
