Division of Facilities Management - Northern Division. The Division of Facilities Management is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to all CDHS agencies and offices. Services include maintenance of buildings and grounds, custodial, capital construction (budgeting and contract management), utilities management, vehicle fleet management, building space leasing allocation, and facilities planning services. This is accomplished through a centralized statewide team divided into three districts and a central office.
Our goal is to meet customer expectations 100% of the time. The facilities managed include 1,400 acres of land and 349 buildings comprising 3.8 million square feet. Facilities served include CMHHFL, DHS (1575 Sherman St.), WRRC (including group homes), DYS facilities (Prairie Vista, Gilliam, Lookout Mountain Campus, Marvin W. Foote, Mount View Campus, Platte Valley) and the Veterans Community Living Center.
Total facilities are approximately 1.9 million sq. ft. at multiple sites within the Northern Region.
Description Of Job
This unit performs housekeeping and custodial services to ensure facilities and client environments are cleaned and maintained according to regulatory standards, providing a safe sanitary environment for clients and staff. Meet the facilities needs of the Northern Region customers while managing resources to provide a high-quality physical environment. The unit maintains a pleasant, safe, and sanitary environment for clients, personnel and visitors in the buildings of the Department of Human Services.
This position provides custodial services for a wide range of agencies within the Department of Human Services, including CMHHFL, DHS, WRRC, and DYS facilities listed above. The position must meet and maintain all regulatory requirements set by JCAHO and the Colorado Department of Public Health and other agencies.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performs daily cleaning, sanitizing, and servicing of the assigned work area as per schedules and procedures using appropriate disinfectants, cleaners, and equipment (sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, etc.).
- Performs daily detailed cleaning of the assigned area (washing walls, doors, frames, sills, windows, baseboards, fixtures, furnishings, ceilings, vents, and light fixtures).
- Performs weekly project work across areas including hard floors and carpet.
- Performs project floor work (buffing, scrubbing, stripping, waxing, sealing) and carpet care (spot cleaning, shampooing, extracting) with appropriate chemicals and equipment.
- Collects and disposes of trash and biohazard waste following proper containment and disposal protocols.
- Involves moving desks, chairs and other items to conduct project floor work; participates in moving furniture, appliances, equipment, and supplies manually or with moving equipment.
- Cleans and services equipment; maintains janitorial closet, supplies, stock levels, and chemical labeling requirements.
- Snow removal.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Positions are those that perform essential services for health, safety, and welfare of patients, residents, and inmates. Such employees may be required to work unusual hours.
Call Back applies when an eligible employee is required to report to work outside scheduled hours. If applicable, a minimum of two hours of base pay is guaranteed. Eligible employees are those eligible for overtime, and any call back time counts as work time.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have at least three months of cleaning experience. Employment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40 hours per week). Part-time employment is prorated.
