About the Role
Fivetran builds automated data pipelines that power the modern data stack for thousands of companies worldwide.
We are seeking a business-minded Commercial Counsel with experience drafting and negotiating sales agreements with leading global and domestic organizations. This role will report to the Director and Assistant General Counsel, Commercial, and will serve as a key legal partner to cross-functional teams and stakeholders across the company.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Denver, CO office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team
Technologies You’ll Use- Ironclad, SFDC
Support Fivetran’s sales organization by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer-facing commercial agreements, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, BAAs, and related amendments
Partner closely with Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Security, and Rev Ops to facilitate efficient deal execution while managing legal and business risk
Advise on contractual issues related to data protection, privacy, security, IP, liability, and compliance in a SaaS environment
Provide practical, business-focused legal guidance to help close deals while maintaining scalable contracting processes
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidelines
Support cross-functional initiatives related to product launches, pricing, go-to-market motions, and customer lifecycle matters
7+ years’ experience negotiating and drafting sales agreements, including in-house experience at a SaaS or technology company and/or law firm.
Strong experience negotiating SaaS, cloud, or technology agreements supporting direct sales teams
Working knowledge of data privacy, security, and technology contracting issues in a B2B SaaS context
Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Strong communication skills and comfort advising non-legal stakeholders
Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
High attention to detail, with demonstrated self-initiative that drives a desire for impact and achievement.
Admitted to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction
CIPP (US) certification is a plus.
