Mass Tort Paralegal – New England
Join Husch Blackwell, a full‑service litigation and business law firm, to support attorneys in the New England asbestos practice. This position focuses on in‑fact investigation, legal research, document preparation, and case management for mass tort and toxic litigation.
Essential Job Functions- Maintain a professional demeanor and comply with firm policies.
- Sustain attention to detail and quality of work.
- Develop technical proficiency in database use, internet research, and electronic file maintenance.
- Independently organize and manage files or delegate similar tasks to Paralegal Assistants or Information Governance.
- Attend and participate in in‑house CLEs.
- Supervise and mentor Paralegal Assistants.
- Anticipate attorney needs and handle key duties without supervision of another Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.
- Meet a billable hour requirement of 1,500 hours per year.
- Deliver superior service and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Interact in a professional and courteous manner with clients and employees; professional appearance required.
- Perform position requirements with excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills.
- Work collaboratively within a team and adapt to changing business demands.
- Produce accurate work efficiently and maintain quality final work product.
- Exercise good judgment at all times and act decisively under deadlines.
- Maintain high level of professional integrity and confidentiality.
- Lead and motivate work of others; manage direct reports, performance evaluation, goal‑setting, employee development, and problem‑solving.
- Asbestos / toxic tort litigation experience mandatory.
- Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree in a law‑related field, or associate’s degree with paralegal training.
- Familiarity with e‑filing protocols and online docket research in New England state and federal courts.
- Location in the New England area is preferred, but not required for candidates with asbestos litigation experience.
Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.

- State of Maryland: $70,000 - $98,000
- State of Massachusetts: $76,000 - $90,000
- State of Minnesota: $89,000 - $100,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $85,000 - $116,000
- State of New York: $79,000 - $116,000
- State of Washington: $78,000 - $106,000
- Washington, DC: $85,000 - $115,000
