Wells Family Law Seeks Experienced Family Law Attorney
We are seeking a full-time attorney to join our growing team. We are a firm of like-minded attorneys working to provide exemplary client representation in a collegial work environment. Work onsite alongside our team of attorneys and paralegals. We offer competitive benefits and pay commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications- Currently licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado or awaiting licensure transfer from another jurisdiction.
- A demonstrable interest in the practice of family law. Experience in family law cases is preferred.
- At least three (3) years of negotiation and litigation skills, including experience with mediation, arbitration, hearings, and trials. First chair trial experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of Colorado family law statutes, case law, and local court rules.
- The ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and a high degree of initiative.
- Exceptional legal research and drafting skills.
- Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
- Experience and applied knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Pro.
- Experience with legal software such as Clio, Dropbox, and Math4
Law. - A sense of humor and ability to work with a team.
- Representing clients in dissolution of marriage, legal separation, common law marriage, allocation of parental responsibilities, post-decree matters, cases involving domestic violence and protection orders, and other domestic relations cases with minimal supervision.
- Managing case deadlines and developing case strategy.
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Attending mediation, arbitration, or other alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
- Appearing in court and advocating on behalf of clients.
- Consulting with clients regularly to provide updates, provide guidance, and develop case strategy.
- Negotiating with counsel and parties to obtain favorable client outcomes.
- Assisting in overseeing client trust account management and collections.
- Collaborating with other counsel and staff.
- Participating in personal and firm marketing efforts.
- 110 hours per month billable hour expectation.
- Competitive base pay plus bonuses based on collections ($100,000 to $220,000 total depending upon experience).
- No book of business required, but ability to bring in cases and referrals is preferred.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 - $220,000. The range is a reliable estimate based on billable hours and collections that this individual is expected to receive. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, billable hour expectations, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
