Corporate Paralegal & Legal Operations Lead (Startup/Fin Tech)
Overview
One of our top clients is seeking a dynamic Corporate Paralegal to serve as the sole internal legal point person. This is a foundational role for a "North Star" professional who can build and scale a legal department from the ground up.
Reporting directly to the President and COO
, you will manage the entire contract lifecycle, interface with external regulatory counsel, and operate autonomously in a fast-paced, "early adopter" environment.
- Department Management: Act as the internal "Department of One," managing legal workflows and organizing the legal database without an in-house General Counsel.
- Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Drive the end-to-end process for NDAs, SLAs, Partner Contracts, and renewals, including heavy redlining and negotiation support.
- Regulatory & Privacy: Update Privacy Policies and Disclaimers in collaboration with external regulatory counsel.
- Strategic Scaling: Identify opportunities to automate workflows (e.g., integrating legal tracking with CRM/Hub Spot) and improve documentation practices.
- Compliance: Track corporate and employment regulations, including state filings and audit preparation.
- C-Suite Advisory: Act as a tactical partner to the CEO/COO, knowing when to handle matters independently and when to engage outside counsel.
- Salary Range: $83,000 – $93,000 (Base salary; flexibility for highly qualified candidates).

Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday in-office
). - Office
Location:

- Certification: Paralegal Certificate + Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience: 4+ years as a Corporate Paralegal or Contract Administrator.
- Industry Background: Experience in Fin Tech, Insurance, or Mortgage is highly preferred.
- Technical
Skills:
Mastery of redlining, CLM workflows, and document management systems. - The "Startup" Factor: Proven experience as a "Department of One" in a small-to-mid-sized company.
- Ability to "operate in the grey" and pivot quickly as the company scales.
