We are onboarding new employees using a hybrid approach. The Department supports flexible work arrangements. Depending on the business need and description of the position, we have options that range from hybrid, to full‑time in the office. Specific discussions about the schedule will be discussed during the offer stage. Please note — equipment provisioning and certain onboarding tasks will take place in person, in our downtown Denver office, on the first day of employment.

Within the parameters set forth by federal and state law, this position is the Staff Authority in reviewing and analyzing trusts created by or for the benefit of individuals applying for or receiving medical assistance benefits, and advises county staff, clients, and client representatives on the impact of trust assets on eligibility.

• Determining policy changes but mostly supports established policies related to trusts, resources purchased with trust assets, and transfers without fair consideration related to trust assets
• Working on projects in this subject matter area
• Working on the recovery of trust assets and over payment claims related to trust assets
• Reviewing and analyzing accountings from trustees, and advising, initiating, and recovering monies on behalf of Medicaid upon the client’s death or closure of the trust. Any legal proceedings such as administrative appeals or judicial reviews stemming from trusts, including related resources and transfers without fair consideration, shall be handled by this Position on an as needed basis as directed by the Section Manager
• Coordinating assigned legal proceedings with the Attorney General’s Office on an as needed basis
• Other duties as assigned
